If you are willing to put in some DIY work, the far better option would be something like a Raspberry Pi or other low-powered computer running Kodi or something similar. It's a general purpose extensible media player with UI. If you have them as separate files, Kodi (formerly XBMC) could do what you want. Is there a software to create a custom graphical menu of video clips, like a DVD, but with video files hosted on the computer, NOT on a DVD? Benefits and negatives to each, as is the case with everything. Or DVDs could be my best option, I'm unsure and just looking for opinions. We often have internet outages while still having power, and I'm looking for a solution aside from DVDs.
